Dear Family and Friends,
We are in Bangkok and have come to the conclusion of our complete family Reunion. All but David and Sara and family have returned to their places of service. Yesterday Margie had a check-up by the doctor who did the operation. I wish I had gotten a copy of the x-ray. It was dramatic. The place where the bone was broken had a thick white bone layer all over it, and the cracked areas were just barely visible. Doctor Werayut Chayapinun the doctor who performed the operation was very happy and upbeat. He said she is about 70% healed. Now she must walk putting full weight on the right leg and even climbing stairs where there is a railing and helpers to steady her. He said the more exercise the more quickly the full healing will take place. He was happy to hear that she had been walking in a swimming pool. He said that is very good and safe. We were all pleased with the result, for we had been told that it might take up to 3 or 4 months for the healing. It has not even been quite one month yet. What a wonderful answer to prayer this is. The weather is very mild at 80-90 in the day time. The water in the pools is very comfortable and she loves to walk and exercise in it. The Nature Resort where we have been staying in Ko Lanta has a swimming pool that is easy for her to get in and out of. And while we are here in Bangkok the Good House Hotel has a lovely swimming pool as well which we have been using.
We plan to be here in Bangkok for six more days with David and Sara and their 4 Children Joshua, Micah, Caleb and Eliana. Then we will return to Ko Lanta until the 7th of February when we will return to the hospital in Bangkok for our final check up on Feb. 8th. Then we fly out to Los Angeles on Tuesday, February 9th on Eva Air BR 68 at 17:10 and arrive in Los Angeles on BR 16 at 19:25 on Tuesday, February 9th (just a little over 2 hours later than the time we left Bangkok!). But it takes a little over 15 hours in the air and a 2 hour lay over in Taipei to make the trip from Bangkok to Los Angeles. The doctor said she is making so much progress that she will be able to do it well. So we will not need to extend our time here to allow more time for healing. It is happening quickly and well. The doctor also said she had no sign of osteoporosis or of any infection. Praise be to our Lord.
Thank you all for your love and prayers.
