Dear Family and Friends,
This is an urgent prayer request. Please pray for our two daughters in law : 1. Nicky Stock the widow of our son Dale. She is working in the Mission hospital in Shikarpur, Pakistan. Last week she was rushed to the nearby the Government Hospital in Sukkur , Sindh to have an operation for appendicitis. Operations of this kind were not performed in the Shikarpur Hospital. At the hospital they discovered that there was a large stone in her gall bladder. They removed both the appendix and the gall bladder and she has returned home to Shikarpur. But she has a fever which they fear is Typhoid fever. So she is being treated for that as well as her operations. Please pray that she will recover soon.
2. Pat Stock , Paul’s wife has gone to the hospital today August 22nd at 3pm for an important operation on her ankle. She sprained it severely when she was about 20 years old. Since then she has broken it 3 times and sprains it about 3 times a year. An MRI last week revealed some bone chips and very weak muscles , ligaments and cartilage supporting the ankle. The doctor recommended an operation to strengthen the supporting tissue and clean up the chips. He said she would have to stay off the foot for 3 months and it would take 8 months to fully heal. Since she has had so much trouble over the years they felt it wise to have the operation so she would not have continual strains and pain. The problem is the busy schedule we have in these days. She will have to be very careful and use a wheel chair and other helps to get around. And she will need to take blood thinner to prevent clots when she flies.
