Jesus Comforts Us

Dave is resting in the confront of his heavenly home.
John 14 “Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God[a]; believe also in me. My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going.”

We brought Dave home Thursday night from the hospital with hospice care.  Our dog Cricket was happy to see him home and slept with Dave most of the time.  Nathan, Heather and I were around him most of the day, talking and watching the Olympics.  We then prayed around him as we all head of to bed.  I put my bed next to Dave’s and held his warm hand as I went off to sleep.  When I awake around 4:00 AM I could tell that Jesus had come in while I was sleeping and took Dave to his Heavenly Home.

Becky and Jim drove down to Florida on Thursday to start a new school year.  I am flying them back up today for a week. Josh and family arrive sometime early next week.

I will send out another post when I make the plans for the services this week.

Continue to keep our family as we start this new chapter without Dave.

Being held by the prayers of so many.  Leah

I dedicate this poem to David Preston my brother in The LORD,
who has entered hospice care

If Today
907
If today should be my last day on earth
I want you to know I have God’s rebirth.
The LORD”S my shepherd, I follow His voice,
and I will join Him, and with Him rejoice.
His pastures are green, the grasses are tall.
He supplies the strength, so I will not fall.
His living water, so clean and so pure
awaits me to drink, so I do not fear.

He took all my strips; he took all my thorns,
He’s taken the punch out of Satan’s horns.
He came to my aid and I’m not afraid.
My pathway to Him, He willingly made.
In Him I’ll glory, in Him I will stand
protected by His everlasting hand.

So please do not weep, as those with no hope.
Lean upon His strength, He’ll help you to cope.
With Christ our Savior we will meet again
forever free from the burden of sin.
The ultimate goal, Christ Jesus has won.
We will praise forever our God Holy Son.
