Dear Prayer Warriors,
In two days John will take off for Ethiopia. I thought I wanted to go with him but remembered that this is the hunger time in Tulegit and Moga and it is always hard to see so many people hungry so it’s a good thing for me to wait again until God’s time. John is “almost” packed and ready to go:) Thank you for praying for his safety and that God will show him how to carry His love to Suri and Suri Baale people.
John saw the eye doctor on Thursday. His eye is not growing any more scar tissue which is a good thing and it looks healthy but not much hope of doing any more surgery. “Keep putting the eye drops in.” So we wait upon the Lord for all that He wants to do with John’s eye.
My last “little” surgery was in the doctor’s office. He did a little more on my nose and clipped some scar tissue inside the mouth. This seems to have relieved some tension on the lip and the open place is smaller and easier to manage. I am scheduled for the bone graft on March 10th. Thank you for praying for peace in my heart as John is not here for support and this one is supposed to hurt in the hip!! I am encouraged to think this might be the last surgery on my face. Wouldn’t that be wonderful!! Thank you for all your prayers and love shown to both of us.
We have been blessed to have opportunities to share our story and what it is teaching us about waiting on God and forgiveness and reconciliation. John will need that wisdom in Ethiopia as there is some in-fighting in the Suri church.
Thank you for your prayers for the seminar on Spiritual Warfare and Intercessory Prayer in Wichita. God blessed us so much in preparing and sharing. The staff at Eastminster were so helpful to us and all was covered in prayer!! Praise God with us. Love in Jesus, Gwen and John

David & Leah,
>
> I feel so blessed and inspired as I have followed your journey from David’s diagnosis to the present. I am often distressed when I hear people talk about God and science as though they are dichotomous entities. I truly believe that God is in science and that science is in God, that science is an integral part of God’s creation. David is living and testifying truth to that “fact of life.” Whenever I pray for you, David, I pray that God will continue to advance medical science in your treatment, and I pray that he will give you strength and hope and peace as you work through the process of your treatment. I know you did not engage this battle with the idea that you would become an inspiration, but that is what you are — an inspiration, the very embodiment of courage and determination. . . and faith.
>
> May God continue to bless you, both of you, and may you continue to draw a measure of strength from the many, many people — family, friends, strangers, and brothers and sisters in Christ who continue to pray for you.
