Hi,
I am participating in the New England Epic EverWalk event in September. EverWalk is a movement launched by endurance maverick Diana Nyad, the first person in history to swim the 111 miles from Cuba to Florida non-stop, and her Cuba swim expedition leader Bonnie Stoll. Their goal is to inspire America to get into the great outdoors and walk. To help recruit supporters to the movement and build a nation of walkers, they are hosting a series of epic walks across the United States. These walks will travel through the great corridors of the United States, from city to city. The New England walk will begin in Copley Square in Boston on September 10 and proceed up the New England coast to Cape Elizabeth, Maine, a distance of 132 miles in seven days. (See the map below and EverWalk.com for more details.)
I am dedicating my participation in the walk to the Rehena Ministries In Step Program (rehemainstep.com) for orphans in Kenya. My nephew, Adam Pollock, has been a missionary serving with this organization since 2012. I invite you to participate in this walk with me by pledging support for In Step based on how many miles I walk. (To date I have not walked more than 18 miles in a day and you will note the distance every day except the last day is over 18 miles.) We will be wearing tracking bracelets and I understand the results will be reported on the EverWalk web site each day. For those sceptics who don’t think I can walk the entire 132 miles, encourage me by making a lump sum donation good only if I complete the total distance. Contributions should be made directly to Rehena Ministries and are tax deductible – Rehema Ministries, 1117 3rd. St., Anacortes, WA 98221 or electronically at connect.egiving.com/where-most-needed 120/rehema-ministries.
Please let me know if you are making a pledge so I will know what I am walking for.
Thank you and God bless you for your support. Ed
