Life is a Puzzle and it is fun to see just how God is putting it all together.
God continues to tell us that life is out of our control—but it certainly isn’t out of his control. He continues to remind us that his ways are higher than our ways, his thoughts are higher than our thoughts (Isaiah 55:8-9). He continues to remind us that when we can’t see his hand, we can still trust his heart. He keeps reminding us to focus our eyes on him, to be still and know that he is God (Psalm 46:10).
We are once again sitting in the infusion center so Dave can get more chemo. Dave had a CT scan yesterday and we had hoped for a cancer free scan. However, our ways are not God’s ways and we are learning more about faith and trust. We know God remains in control and we need to be still and know that He is God.
PTL the scan did show that the tumors continue to shrink and so Dave will continue chemo for the foreseeable future. When talking to the doctor today he shared with us that He is working harder at having time in the Word this year. He has found a program that he can listen to in his car. May we continue to encourage others to spend more time in the Word, as we seek to share the life giving effect that has had on Dave.
On the home front, we continue to enjoy time with Heather and Nathan. With Nathan’s help we have set up a nice carpentry shop in our garage. In the past few weeks we have finished off our first table, (see picture) Dave helped Heather make a headboard to her bed, we made a short wall and had a friend come and wire up outlets in it for the workshop. The big project this week is making an old mirror into a toy box (see picture). Yes we are having lots of fun being creative.
On the work side. The project that we put together for the reroofing at BESS in Ethiopia is going well. We praise the Lord on how everything came together, it was only through God that all the details worked out. Now that Dave is feeling so much better we are once again starting to work on the future of SERVE. We will be sending out letters in the next month or so once we have our new CRM set up.
The Puzzle
Life is a puzzle, I won’t deny it.
So many pieces, where is it I fit?
How am I to know, where am I to go,
to be in my place before the big show.
I am a part of God’s puzzle of grace
that won’t be complete if I’m out of place.
I must be careful to follow his lead,
so I have the shape that my piece will need.
The potter is crafting out of my clay
a vessel for Him, where He can come stay.
At times it will hurt, but that is OK
all my rough corners need smoothing away.
While God is chipping away at my piece,
I have His promise; His love does not cease.
God has proven that His is worthy of trust.
My delicate piece I know He won’t bust.
Though heartaches and tears may clutter my path,
The blood of Jesus protects me from wrath.
I know that my LORD knows where my piece fits,
and until I’m there He won’t call it quits.
