Thank you so much for praying for my “last surgery”! I have been waiting til it healed before sharing the results. My doctor has managed to close the corner of the mouth a little more. It looks pretty good and closes almost entirely with the teeth out but when I put them in things still tend to drip out there. I am so grateful to God and to my doctor for what they have accomplished. I think my dentist will be pleased too since he was afraid that the surgery would mess up his work on the dentures. I am still learning to work with them and (don’t tell anyone) take them out if I really want to eat in peace. There is more of a scar on the left side but I can live with that. So thank you again for praying for me and for us. John’s eye is still living tho it doesn’t see. We are grateful for that too since from the beginning he did not want to wear a black patch and look like a pirate:)

John is planning a trip mid October to just before Thanksgiving to Ethiopia. Allan Sents is going with him. Trinity Presbyterian in Santa Ana has given money for a TPC (Termite Proof Church) across the valley from Tulegit. This is an amazing church in a village that was always a little difficult. God loves to change that kind of people and place so that as Paul says, “People will know it is God who does it and not us.” Next year we hope to put a TPC in the shooter’s village!! How wonderful that will be! Pray for all these congregations and for the mother church too. Think of the Corinthian Church if you want to know what some of the problems are. But God is able to do far more than we can ask or EVEN IMAGINE!!

Praise His Holy Name! Love in Jesus, Gwen and John
