Dear Family & Friends,
SPECIAL NOTE -NEW CELL PHONE # 626-493-1876
We have been cordially welcomed back to Westminster Gardens in Duarte, CA after seven delightful weeks in Thailand with Sara and David Treece and their four children. We were carefully watched over to prevent any hospital stays this time. Their loving watchful care was successful, PTL! We all loved the Insect Zoo which had innumerable insects in each stage of life. We were encouraged to handle them and watch each type going through their life cycle. We even handled large scorpions that didn’t sting. They told us that it is smaller types of scorpions that panic and are prone to sting. The Treece kids are experts at handling crabs, clams, and all sorts of creatures. It seems to run in the Stock genes. One year MCS gave Dale’s son, Luke, a special award for being “The best handler of creepy crawlies in MCS”.……
When we first arrived in Thailand, Sara and David were feeling somewhat discouraged that no new field of work was opening for them that fit their gifts and vision. Praise God that after several days new doors did open. David has been hired by an American whom he knows slightly, to teach English part time in an ESL(English as a Second Language) tutoring center in Kazakhstan. David will also have a chance to see the TEE(Theological Education by Extension) ….. They fly there April 22nd and stay until September or October when they come to the USA for home leave. This will give them time to feel out the situation and see how they can best fit into the ministry there. Do pray for them as they make this major change in their lives and service.
We had a good trip back, arriving in Duarte March 2nd. Then we left on March 5th for five days at Gleanings for the Hungry in Dinuba where we go twice a year to prepare soup mix to be sent to needy countries. This is a project of Youth With a Mission and is a wonderful time of worship, fellowship and worth while service. Now at last we are home to stay for a while in Duarte. Sunday we had visits from grandson Joel son of Paul and Pat. He is a sophomore at Biola University not too far away and Jesse son of Lois and Kyle in Bangladesh came to visit from Newport Beach. He came for supper after Joel had left. He is doing very well as an assistant manager of Enterprise Car Rentals .His spare time is spent getting ready to compete in a triathlon (swimming, bicycling and running) that is scheduled for May 6th in St. George, Utah. Lois and Isaiah plan to be there to cheer him on. After that Lois hopes to be able to be present for the birth of Kristin’s second baby, due toward the end of May in Dahlonega,Georgia.
We have just gotten the exciting news that Abigail Stoscher took her drama ministry team of nine students plus two teachers to Albania during the College spring break . They performed Bible story dramas in a number of Churches in Albania and were a great blessing.
Ruthie just wrote from Albania, “Right now we have moved into our orphan Children’s Home, Foleza, and will be taking care of the 10 kids for the next seven weeks. We will have one week at home in early May before we head off to the US. Please do keep us in prayer as it is challenging living here though also rewarding. We do love these kids so much and long to see each of them really come to a vital faith. ”
We plan to join the Stoschers for our grand daughter Abigail’s graduation from Northwestern College in Orange City , Iowa May 13 th. That will be a special exciting time for us.
YES children and grandchildren do keep life very exciting and enriching.
God bless you all. Lots of love, Margie and Fred
