Dear Prayer Warriors,
Thank you so much for all your prayers. The trip to Pennsylvania went well and we enjoyed the contact with churches and people in Washington Presbytery. We stayed with Rusty, an advocate for EECMY in southwest Ethiopia. We also visited friends in New York and cousins in PA. God blessed us with health and strength. We enjoyed each visit but the highlight of our trip was the New Wilmington Missionary Conference. We spoke on Saturday night. You can see that and the other speakers on You Tube. There was a lot of response to our talk so we know that God was speaking to his people about their woundedness. He is so longing to heal that woundedness in all of us. We also shared with high school students and young adults and 4-6th graders. The best part was seeing missionaries that we have met in the past and feeling their love and concern for us. One man said, “This is my tribe.” That resonated with me and I came to realize that we are no longer missionaries (overseas) ourselves but the connection to missionaries is still there. Praise the Lord!
I will be seeing the dentist on Aug. 15th and hope to get a projected plan for finishing my mouth care. It was a struggle at times at the conference not to be too aware of my looks but God helped me to give it up to him over and over. He is so good!!
We plan to go to Ethiopia in October and have bought our tickets! Pray with us for this trip – strength, peace and no fear. Thank you. We love you all. Gwen and John
